Wallet
Keeping zats separated, and using the Zordinals Wallet day to day.
Why zOrdinals needs a careful wallet
An ordinary Zcash wallet treats every zat as interchangeable. It will merge outputs, pay fees from whatever is convenient, and happily shield your balance. Any of those actions can scatter a rare zat or destroy an inscription, so a zOrdinals wallet must control coin selection.
- Keep inscribed and rare zats in their own outputs.
- Fund fees from a separate spending output, never from an artifact.
- Stay on transparent addresses for anything the protocol tracks.
Sending an inscription into the shielded pool, or to an exchange deposit address, ends its ordinal identity permanently.
Setting up the Zordinals Wallet
- Open the app and create a wallet, or unlock an existing one.
- Store the recovery phrase offline. It is the only way back into the wallet.
- Copy the receiving address and send ZEC to it.
What it holds
- ZEC balance — used for launch fees, inscribing and buys.
- Token balances — every coin you hold from the curve.
- ZEC credits — sale proceeds, spendable immediately or withdrawable.
- Inscriptions — artifacts and NFTs bound to zats you control.
Funding and withdrawing
Funding
Send ZEC from any Zcash wallet or exchange to your receiving address. Deposits appear once confirmed on chain. Keep a small buffer above the 0.001 ZEC launch fee for network costs.
Withdrawing
Credits convert to a normal ZEC balance and can be withdrawn to any Zcash address. Withdrawals pay the standard network fee.
